Thanks for stopping by!

This blog is being set up to help our friends, the Bucy family. They are a wonderful Catholic family in Mt. Airy, MD who have had A LOT happen to them over the past few years. They are always available to help others whenever someone is in a bind. Whether it's fixing cars, hosting a 31 party and giving away lots of goodies, babysitting when you need help...the Bucy's are always willing to give of themselves to anyone who needs their help. I wanted to take this chance to help them with my friend Brenda. Nora Bucy (wife and mother) was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins Lymphoma on March 10, 2007 (the same day her third child turned 8 months old). She received treatment for it, and was almost in complete remission, when last year another lump in her lymph node was found. Surgery was done to remove it, then another popped up (she also suffers from Sjogrens disease as well.  There was a wonderful miracle recently attributed to an amazing Carmelite nun currently undergoing the process of canonization, due to a healing of a woman suffering from the same disease.  She had asked for Blessed Elizabeth's intercession).

Nora is currently undergoing chemotherapy as a preventative measure for the cancer.,The costs for treatment are expensive (I'd like to say staggering). She received a grant at the end of 2012 from the Lymphoma Society to pay for that cycle of treatment. The money is running out, and she starts up again this Friday, January 18th. The cost for one treatment is $14,000.00. There is a down payment of $2,500.00 due by this Friday. If this was not enough, there has been other medical expenses that have come up all at the same time. A child of theirs needed dental surgery this past fall, which they are still making payments on. Due to the chemotherapy leaving Nora with basically no immune system, her body is having a horrible time healing from recent dental surgery herself. She has needed two rounds of antibiotics, but it's healing very, very slowly. If it doesn't heal, she will have to see a specialist to have it fixed (again, more money). As brothers and sisters in Christ, I KNOW that times are tight for everyone. Having a special needs child ourselves, we really understand that for a lot of people, making it to the next check is very hard. However, I'm setting this blog up in the hopes of raising some money for this family who very much need a break. Even if it's just enough to pay off the balance of one medical bill, it would be such an amazing relief for them. One less load to carry. There is no set goal in the amount of money we are trying to raise.

In addition to this fundraiser, we have some giveaways!

Whoever donates will be entered to win our first prize, thanks to Brenda!

It's a Trendy Traditions custom chaplet, and the winner will be drawn once we reach a mini goal of $150.00.

We have several more giveaways, so please keep coming back.  Brenda has done an awesome job is rallying her awesome friends to help make these available to us.   Thank you Brenda!

As always, PRAYERS are the most important thing we can ever do for one another. So I ask for you to prayerfully discern helping this family if you are able, and to add them to your list of intentions.

God Bless you all and thank you so much!
